Facial Fillers

At Arrowhead Plastic Surgeons you will always have a board certified plastic surgeon as your injector. As you age, your skin will lose some of its natural hyaluronic acid, a process that is accelerated by spending a lot of time in the sun.

What is Juvederm®?

Juvederm® is known to be a smooth injectable cream that can bring back the skin’s volume and get rid of wrinkles and folds, as well as those visible ones around the nose, mouth, and on the forehead. Hyaluronic acid injections also appear to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, two proteins that contribute to the skin’s elasticity and fullness.

Benefits of Juvederm®

  • 1It is the only hyaluronic acid-based filler to receive FDA approval for volume enhancement in the cheeks and mid-face region.
  • 2Results appear straightaway with treatment.
  • 3Only one treatment is usually required to achieve optimal results.
  • 4The volume enhancement effects are long lasting.

How is Juvederm® Performed?

Most Juvederm® treatments take only about 15 minutes. The Juvederm® solution is injected into the targeted area with a very fine needle. Any discomfort is typically minimal, although the doctor possibly will numb your skin with an anesthetic before the injection. You will not require any pre-treatment testing for allergies since Juvederm® isn’t made up of any allergy-inducing ingredients.

Preparing for Your Juvederm® Procedure

You should inform your doctor if you are using substances that might prolong bleeding, for instance, aspirin, ibuprofen, or naproxen.

Within the first 24 hours of the procedure, you are advised to avoid the following:

  • 1Vigorous exercise
  • 2Extensive sun and heat exposure
  • 3Alcoholic drinks

Exposure to any of the above might lead to temporary swelling, redness, or itching at the injection area. If swelling happens, you should place an ice pack to bring down the inflammation.

Juvederm® Recovery

Recovering from Juvederm® is quick. Within days of the procedure, any tenderness, redness, or swelling should be reduced. You will be able to go back to your daily routine and will have only minimal aftercare instructions. Juvederm® is well tolerated in most people.

How Much Does a Juvederm® Procedure Cost?

Cost will vary for the person, and the time involved, as well as how much of the dermal filler will be needed. We will be happy to discuss financing specifics during your initial consultation.

Is Juvederm® Right for Me?

If there are fine areas on your face that need plumping or if you need a few facial depressions filled, Juvederm® gives good long-lasting results that are affordable for most people. We will discuss your goals and determine if this is the dermal filler for your needs.

What to Expect During your Consultation?

  • 1Tenderness
  • 2Redness
  • 3Firmness
